The Teachers:

The selection of teachers is done purely on the basis of their proficiency, merit and qualifications. A team of experts in the field of education helps in the selection process. The teachers are constantly reoriented to the changing curriculum. The Pre Primary teachers have been trained by M.S.Swaminathan research foundation. While teachers of many other schools resisted the move to introduce computer as a tool for teaching, the teachers of our school positively responded and now they have adapted to the software that are being used as supplements of class room teaching .

The Teaching Methodology:

Education, in our founder’s view, should be imagination oriented, knowledge intensive and tempered by discipline. So our teaching methods are based on these ideals. Since individual attention is a must for this method of education we are keeping a student-teacher ratio of 25. Primary education is given by PLAYWAY method, which ensures development of all faculties of children. Computer is an integral part of our teaching method. Multimedia is extensively used in teaching Biology, Mathematics and Geography. Encyclopaedia CD ROMs are important reference tools for both teachers and students. Activity based learning, which improves the comprehension of the students, has been introduced in our school. This includes conduct of Exhibitions related to each subject , having forums for various subjects and taking the students on visits to factories .  Forums for Tamil, English and Science have been created where students are encouraged to train in public speaking, Science activities etc. They will be guided by teachers and experts in their respective fields. Two exhibitions in Science have already been conducted-one for students from primary classes and another for senior students. Internet is already installed in our school and we are the only educational institution in this part of the country to have got the facility of multimedia based learning and also internet. After the introduction of computers, the comprehension of students in Biology and Geography has improved tremendously. Now we are in the process of identifying good software for teaching Chemistry and Physics apart from internet resources.

Technical Assistance:

To be on par with the best in the world we are taking technical assistance from various organisations in USA ,apart from M.S.Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai.

To improve the functioning of the brain, National Academy for Child Development of USA has developed a software and the school is acquiring the same for the use of students.  These contacts would give the students of our school the competitive edge that is required in this fast changing world. We are also in touch with several other associations and organisations so that we are constantly updated on the newer methods of teaching and also on the availability of new software.

Sports:

As regards sports, apart from the regular games, our focus is on games that improve the individual skills, like Badminton. We have  introduced Table Tennis and Chess with arangements for expert coaching to be arranged in the near future. Plans are afoot to create infrastructure for basket ball and foot ball.

Plans for the future:

The vision of the school is to make the students to face the world with confidence, create an atmosphere where pursuing careers in research will be as natural as choosing the currently popular careers like Engineering or medicine.

The school has a student strength of 735 (up 20% from 96/97). The school fee ranges between Rs 1,500 p.a for LKG and Rs 3,000 p.a for XII std. In the last 2 years nearly Rs 10 lacs have been invested in improving the infrastructure- Building Computer rooms, buying Computers, building compound walls, building toilets, equipping the laboratories etc., all out of donations.

Based on our experience of the recent past we expect to increase the student strength by about 200. So we are planning to improve the infrastructure to meet the increasing strength by investing over Rs 15 Lacs. This investment will be mainly in constructing additional 4000 sq.ft ofclass rooms and furnishing the same. We expect this investment to be met out of donations .
